beltway are back open near kennilworth avenue following a deadly crash overnight. it happened after midnight. we understand three cars were involved in the crash. one person died. maryland state police expect to release more information later this morning. also breaking overnight in the district, one person is dead after a shooting in northeast. the was the scene overnight on 46th street northeast.. in the deanwood area. we do not yet have any information on the victim and police only have a vague description of a suspect. breaking overnight.. a top catholic official charged with sexual assault

cardinal george pell held a news conference at the vatican overnight. it came just hours after australian officials announced the sexual assault charges. pell is a top aide to pope francis. in a statment he denied the allegations and pleaded his innocence.. the cardinal says he will take a leave of absense but did not resign at the vatican's finance czar. he has been ordered to appear in court by july 18th. v-r-e train service is back to normal this morning following another fatal accident wedndesday. police say a 13-year old girl was struck and killed while walking on a railroad bridge. investigators say she was hiking with her family and couldn't get out of

after more than ten failed attempts -- nasa finally launched its terrier-improved malemute sounding rocket from wallops island just about 45 minutes ago! the first launch date was may 31st, but clouds, weather, and other obstacles kept delaying it. after the rocket took off -- parts of the sky lit up in different colors so scientists could track particle motion in space. a pregnant woman in north carolina is facing charges this morning after her vehicle was broken into. it's what happened afterwards -- that got her in trouble. we must warn you, this video is disturbing: christine braswell claims she found robert raines stealing from her s-u-v in a walmart parking lot. he took off -- she jumped behind the wheel -- chased

judge. kevin mallory was arrested last week after returning from china, with more than 16-thousand dollars in cash in his carry on bags. prosecutors say he transmitted top secret documents to an apparent chinese agent. the 69-year-old is an army veteran who worked as a special agent in the state department. the body of a u.s. sailor killed in a collision involving the u.s.s. fitzgerald will be transported to randallstown, maryland today. navy personnel specialist first class xavier martin was one of seven sailors killed when a container ship struck the fitzgerald. it happened june 17th, off the coast of japan. today an honor escort will accompany martin's body from dover air force base, across the bay bridge, to randallstown. the procession begins at 11 a.m. the n-double-a-c-p is expressing new opposition... to prince george's county public schools c-e-o kevin maxwell. the civil rights group wants maxwell's contract renewal, stopped. it's citing allegations of grade tampering in the district. maxwell denies the allegations. the group also gg
